Oakland Raiders Week 8 Stats Breakdown and Awards

Defensive Standouts
Khalil Mack: +7.0 -Mack had one of the best well-rounded games of his career. Every single one of his tackles was either a QB sack, or considered a “Stop.” Meaning he tackled the ball carrier behind or at the line of scrimmage. Mack’s overall grade was bested by only two players in the league, Tom Brady, and the one man wrecking machine that is J.J. Watt who graded out at +14.9. So, it’s hard to compete against a guy who is playing on Pro when the rest of the league is playing on All-Madden.
I say Mack had a well rounded game because he graded a +3.8 in Run Defense, and +3 in Pass Rush. He was the only defensive player to receive a +.4 or higher in each column. What’s scary is that he is still developing. By this time next season, Mack may be making a case for Defensive Player of the Year.
Denico Autry: Back in action this week Autry came out swinging. A +3.8 overall rating is good enough for 3rd among all D Ends in a 3-4 defense, and 9th among all defensive ends regardless of scheme. Notching a Sack, Hit, QB Hurry and two Stops during the game, Autry was a menace all day to Geno Smith, and the Jets running game.
With Autry back in the lineup, the Raiders front has added depth so they can stay fresh. He may not be listed as a starter, but his role on the defense is just as important.
Charles Woodson: +2.2 – The G.O.A.T. I think that’s all I need to say. Maybe all I NEED to say, but not all I am going to say. I have to at least say that Woodson’s interception sits him atop the league with 5 on the season.
Malcolm Smith: Malcolm’s overall grade of +1.9 was heavily influenced by his grade in Pass Coverage of +1.8. Second only to the man above him, Charles Woodson. This game showed exactly how versatile Smith is, and how he is willing to do what the coaches ask him to do in order to help the team. Malcolm wasn’t used as much in pass rush this game, so he only got one QB hurry on the day, but a +.8 in run defense shows he was taking care of business everywhere beyond the line of scrimmage.
