Darius Slay isn’t a household name, but maybe he should be.
After an average rookie season in 2013, Slay performed as a top-20 CB in 2014, per PFF. So far this season, they’ve got him ranked 11th.
Slay has really picked up his performance over the last five weeks in particular.
#Lions Darius Slay is PFF's No. 2-graded CB over the last 5 weeks. Behind only Josh Norman overall & only Tyrann Mathieu in coverage grade.

Slay will likely be responsible for shadowing Amari Cooper for most of the day, which of course is no easy task. But if he can have success in limiting Cooper’s impact, that will go a long way in slowing down Oakland’s offense. This is Slay playing press coverage on Dez Bryant. Impressive stuff.
