Though Carr did more than enough to earn player of the game honors, slot receiver Seth Roberts served as a key component within Oakland’s offense Sunday and his impact shouldn’t go unnoticed.

Roberts caught a career-high six receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns, including a 12-yard score that put Oakland up three points with just over 80 seconds left in the game. Three of Roberts’ other five receptions resulted in first downs on third-down, one of which being his first touchdown of the day on third-and-five from 10 yards out.

For a receiver that began the season with issues surrounding his inconsistent hands, Roberts has blossomed into a reliable target for Carr on critical downs, something Oakland’s offense is going to need moving forward. Roberts also is considered the second-best run blocking wide receiver in the NFL, which should only lead to an increased snap count for the young man as the season progresses.
