In the first half, Derek Carr was 2-for-8 with 7 yards passing. The Raiders offense as a whole was abysmal, and that’s probably an understatement.

The Raiders only had five plays in the entire half that gained positive yardage, and none of them went for more than four yards. Fortunately, Carr was able to shake off the forgetful first half, and he started off the second half in impressive fashion. Carr went 5-for-5 for 77 yards and a TD on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter. The drive itself went for 80 yards on 9 plays, so Carr was virtually the entire offense on the drive. Carr delivered several strikes to move the offense down the field, and finished the drive off with a pretty pass to Seth Roberts for the touchdown.

The defense held tough throughout the second half, giving the offense ample opportunity to grab the lead. Early in the 4th quarter, they did just that.

Thanks to a muffed punt by Emmanuel Sanders, Carr and the offense had great field position, and capitalized with the go-ahead touchdown. So Carr’s stat line wasn’t pretty, but he got the job done. He was able to put the ugly stretch of four losses in five games and the terrible first half behind him, and help deliver a win.
