Dream signing: George Iloka, S, Cincinnati Bengals

Realistic signing: David Bruton, S, Denver Broncos

Eric Weddle and Tashaun Gipson also qualify as dream signings, and any of three would be a huge upgrade to Oakland’s secondary. Weddle is probably the most realistic option of any of the big names, regardless of position. Iloka can play either safety spot and is the most balanced between pass coverage and run support of the three big names.

The safety free agent class is more top heavy, so the draft will probably be the way to go if one of the big names can’t be signed. Of the lesser known names, Bruton has familiarity Del Rio, but he’s a decent safety at best and wouldn’t excite anyone. Rodney McLeod is another intriguing option.
