Sheldon Rankins Film: Part 3
This is how you stack. Rankins keeps his man at bay with one arm, tracking the ball carrier down the sideline. Then when the RB tries to make his cut, he stops in his tracks and helps make the play.
Excellent use of his arms to get the lineman on his heels, then he disengages and gets right to the QB, forcing a bad throw.
Rankins is stout in run support. In this clip, he perfectly times his disengage and makes the tackle.
Rankins can’t get by his matchup and gives a poor effort after a few failed attempts to beat his man.
Rankins always tracks downfield, just in case. On this play, a screen is thrown at least 10 yards away, but Rankins follows the play and ends up with the tackle.
