Some players on the Raiders defense talked about buying into the system.

Starting linebacker Malcolm Smith talked about the team putting in work to translate wins from March into the season, as the team opened camp.

New starting corner Sean Smith said players need to be accountable and believe in each other, at his press conference to open team activities.

Then there is the Raiders oldest player on defense, Reggie Nelson. Nelson is more of a quiet, lead-by-example player, but he may emerge as a leader because of experience.

Although he is a rookie, Joseph may also emerge as a leader. Plus, there are returning key starters Ben Heeney, David Amerson and Mario Edwards Jr. too.
