Breaking down why Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is better than Blake Bortles.

If you’ve been paying attention to the latest installation of the NFL Network’s annual “Top 100 Players” show, then you already know that the NFL Network’s poll of players has found Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles to be the 66th best player in the NFL going into the 2016 season.

Raiders Quarterback Derek Carr was the show’s first player featured coming it at position #100. Many observers, especially Raider fans, and especially yours truly, found this position to be somewhat disrespectful to the talented Carr, who is certainly the best QB the Raiders have had in years through his first two seasons, and who many – both Raider fans and non-Raider fans alike – believe to the the best quarterback of the 2014 draft class that also included Bortles, Teddy Bridgewater and Johnny Manziel.

So in defense of our beloved young passer, we at JBB – or more specifically this JBB staff writer – will compare the two here and explain exactly why Derek Carr is a better quarterback than Blake Bortles.
