Derek Carr comments on Kevin Durant signing

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr gave his take on Kevin Durant coming to Oakland to play for the Warriors.
Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is a noted basketball fan who is often quick to voice his opinions on the NBA on Twitter. Kevin Durant’s signing with the Golden State Warriors earning some #HotTakes from Carr on Twitter as he weighed in on Durant’s move from Oklahoma City to the Bay Area.
Carr tweeted his excitement about Durant coming to play in his city before backing the star forward’s decision to join a championship contending time. Defending Durant against the backlash for leaving the Thunder for the Warriors.
Carr tweeted his defense of Durant, rallying against the hate for the former MVP making what Carr feels is ultimately an athlete’s decision to do what they feel is right for them by moving on via free agency.
Carr’s thoughts on Durant’s free agency offers an interesting glimpse into the Raiders quarterback’s thought process on the business of sports. With the Raiders looking to sign Carr to a longterm deal in the near future following the former second-round draft pick’s rookie deal, general manager Reggie McKenzie will have to convince his franchise quarterback that Oakland is the right decision or there could be a risk for a Durant-like move to a contender.
