5. Sean Smith

Sean Smith might be the Raiders’ biggest free agency acquisition. Smith might also be the best player on defense, outside of Khalil Mack.

Either way, Smith has already become a vocal leader of the Raiders defense. He has set the expectations for the Raiders secondary during minicamp press conferences. Smith has even supported the play of David Amerson, D.J. Hayden and other returners. This is great considering Smith may be the best Raiders corner since Nnamdi Asomugha.

Smith’s biggest hindrance towards becoming captain is his new status as a new Raider. Would the Raiders respond to an official captain who was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs not too long ago?
