4. Malcolm Smith

Malcolm Smith is coming off one of the best seasons of his career.

The 2014 Super Bowl MVP registered 122 tackles and four sacks last season with the Raiders. Smith flew around the field and made lots of plays.

Part of Smith’s success comes from a previous relationship with defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr., which dates back to Seattle. Smith also recently said the Raiders should make the playoffs.

The production and optimism should make Smith a candidate for captain. His position as starting linebacker also helps.

However, the Raiders have a deeper roster overall. This could mean more sub-packages were Smith is off of the field.
