71. Greg Townsend Jr.

One of the most popular UDFA’s is Townsend Jr., son of none other than Raiders legend Greg Townsend.

Townsend Jr. was a four-star recruit who played at USC, and never could quite get to that level with the Trojans despite his talent. Failing to live up to the hype as a prized high school recruit, which led to him dropping out of the draft as NFL scouts passed on Townsend due to his lack of collegiate production.

At about 6’2″, 260 lbs., he’ll likely be too small to make an impact at defensive end, but he could be intriguing in some 3-4 sets. Townsend will likely be another UDFA who winds up on the practice squad for some time in the weight room and to develop as he is clearly not ready for the NFL level after his disappointing career at USC.
