Ranking the Oakland Raiders Training Camp Roster: 60-51
57. James Cowser
Another undersized but athletic front-seven player, Cowser plays defensive end at 6’3″, 258 lbs.
At the NFL Combine, Cowser’s 3-cone drill time of 6.80 ranked him in the 98th percentile at his position. It’s the same exact 3-cone time as wide receivers Michael Thomas (OSU) and Jalin Marshall.
Cowser played at the FCS level at Souther Utah, but he dominated the competition. He set the career record for sacks with 42.5, and the career record for tackles for loss at 80.
Cowser has a nice arsenal of pass rushing moves and a non-stop motor. It’s just a matter of him overcoming his lack of size and proving he can play up to his level of competition.
