Ranking the Oakland Raiders Training Camp Roster: 60-51
54. Roy Helu Jr.
Roy Helu Jr. came to Oakland last offseason as a player hoped to be able to replace Darren McFadden as the second back in a one-two punch with Latavius Murray. Hopes that never came to fruition as Helu Jr. struggled mightily in his first season with the Raiders last year.
Helu Jr. rushed for just 37 yards on 17 carries in 2015. The former Washington running back continuing his steep career decline after two 200 yard seasons before coming to Oakland.
It appears that Helu Jr. is potentially on his last legs as an NFL running back as his explosiveness appears to be gone and he is no longer an effective rushing option. There is a good chance that Helu is cut or replaced by another option before the start of the season as after he was benched in 2015 the chances of a turnaround are grim going forward.
