64. Giorgio Tavecchio

Giorgio Tavecchio appears to be the hier apparent to Sebastian Janikowski at kicker, as the Italian who played for Cal in college has carved out a nice living as a backup kicker with the Raiders. Always waiting in the wings for when the Janikowski Era in Oakland comes to an end.

Tavecchio has bounced around the NFL as a backup kicker since 2012, spending time on three different teams before coming to Oakland in 2014. A place where he has stayed around despite Janikowski’s firm hold of the starting kicking role at the present moment.

After signing a two-year reserve/futures contract this winter, it looks like the Raiders plan to keep Tavecchio around as a potential replacement for Janikowski. It might not be this season, but Tavecchio has a good chance to become the Raiders starting kicker one day.
