D.J. Hayden as the No. 4 corner
Over
The Raiders signed Sean Smith and re-signed David Amerson to become the starting corners for the future. That puts last year’s day one starters D.J. Hayden and T.J. Carrie in a battle for the third corner position.
At this point in his career, Hayden has become underrated. I get that he has not lived up to his draft status but he has three years of starting experience. Pencil him as the No. 3 corner.
This offseason, Hayden has been praised by the Raiders coaching staff and players. He has the skillset to reinvent himself as a slot corner. Hayden should benefit from more mentors in the secondary, and less pressure. Moreover, the Raiders may utilize Carrie at safety due to injuries.
