Ranking the Oakland Raiders Training Camp Roster: 30-21
22. T.J. Carrie
A late round pick, TJ Carrie has been a surprising part of the Oakland Raiders youth movement since coming to the Silver and Black. Surpassing higher draft picks in DJ Hayden and Keith McGill to become a starter in the Raiders secondary right away as a pleasant late round surprise for general manager Reggie McKenzie.
Carrie has done a bit of everything for the Raiders since being drafted. Playing corner, slot corner and safety during his career while also returning punts. Versatility that has earned Carrie the respect of the organization as a talented young player who will do whatever is asked of him to get on the field to help the team win.
It is expected that Carrie will be competing with DJ Hayden for the slot corner job this season, a job that many expect that Carrie will be able to win based on the careers of the two players so far despite Hayden being a former first round pick. Carrie has earned the respect of the fans and the coaches as a jack of all trades, so expect defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. to find a role for Carrie this season.
