Looking at five Oakland Raiders who need a big Preseason Week 1 performance on Friday.

For most NFL fans, the early weeks of preseason football are only exciting to a certain extent. Yes, football is back, but not in the entirety that is Week 1 of the NFL. The jerseys are on, the lights are on and the fans are all there, but we all know we will only get slight glimpses of the finished product until the opening game of the season. However, for players on the bubble and those fighting for starting gigs once that 53-man roster is finalized, every minute and every rep that they are allotted is crucial within their respective battles.

Heading into the first week of preseason (and for the first time in a long time) the Raiders seem relatively set at most starting positions throughout their roster. There are some key position battles to watch though, and Jack Del Rio and co. are firmly set in the belief that competition and work ethic separate the starters from the reserves, and in their eyes, that is something that holds true to every position going forward.

While Week 1 can be looked at as a quick glimpse of the season to come, certain players who are suiting up look at it as their first opportunity to show the coaching staff what they are worth. Here are five players who need to perform at a high level in their first opportunity.
