Rush the Passer

Again, this should remain a constant in Oakland’s game plan. The Raiders acquired Bruce Irvin to assist Khalil Mack in rushing the passer. Now, they will get a series against the Cardinal’s offense which was among the league’s best last season.

A sack for the rush duo would be awesome. However, some pressures could be enough to help them win the game.

Otherwise, the Raiders defensive line should dominate throughout the game. Jihad Ward should get extensive looks through most of the contest. This will show if Ward is ready to become the full-time starter.

Meanwhile, d-linemen Denico Autry, Stacy McGee and Leon Orr are fighting for roles in the defense. Shilique Calhoun should also get some good practice at rushing the passer. These guys should dominate the Cardinals’ reserves.
