Will first-team offense get into rhythm?

The starters in the first preseason game flashed some big play potential, but ultimately looked out of rhythm.

Derek Carr and Amari Cooper’s timing was slightly off, as they just missed completing a pair of big plays.

The offense also committed two unnecessary penalties — a false start and a delay of game –something Mike Tice certainly focused on all week in practice.

It’s not much of an issue that there was some sloppiness — it was just the first game after all — but will they find their groove in the second game?

The first-team offense usually plays the entire first quarter, and sometimes a series or two into the second quarter, so they’ll have plenty of game action to establish some consistency.
