Dewey McDonald is the player who has received the most hype in training camp for the fourth safety spot. But after a rough preseason debut, the job is still up in the air.

McGill is transitioning to safety, and he hasn’t played all that well either, so he’ll need to get up to speed quickly to win that roster spot.

Lastly, Brynden Trawick was signed in the offseason for his special teams prowess, but if he can play well enough at safety, the job could also be his.

Nate Allen was also considered to be on the roster bubble, but a great preseason debut may have solidified his place on the 53-man roster.

This is one of the handful of roster spots where there is some question, making it an important storyline to follow. There is only one more game after this one against Green Bay before the first round of cuts are due, so players are running out of time to make some noise.
