Oakland Raiders: Takeaways from disappointing Packers loss

QUICK POINTS
1) None of the players I mentioned in my pressures, hurries, and knockdowns article yesterday – Jalen Richards, Taiwan Jones, the group of UDFA receivers, or Denico Autry – did anything to step up last night. Richard was inactive again, but the rest were invisible.
2) Johnny Holton had one of the better plays of the day and has likely solidified his hold on the fifth receiver position.
3) Shilique Calhoun got a sack and some pressure and looked far more comfortable in this game than in the first game against the Cardinals. That’s encouraging.
4) James Cowser wasn’t quite the force he was in game one but continues to play well. He’ll likely make the team, at least on the practice squad.
5) Rumours of Sebastian Janikowski’s demise are greatly exaggerated. He’s nailed both his field goals this offseason (53, 46) down the middle. Giorgio Tavecchio missed an extra point against the Packers. Based on performance thus far there’s no reason to replace Seabass.
