By Tuesday, August 30th, at 4:00PM EST, all NFL teams must have their roster down to 75 players. This is just three days after the third preseason game.
Every NFL team will then play a final preseason game on Thursday, September 1st. By Saturday, September 3rd, again at 4:00PM EST, all NFL teams must have their roster down to the final 53 players.
For the Oakland Raiders, for the first time in a long time, some quality players will be released when the roster is trimmed down to 75 players, yet alone 53.
It’s a good problem to have, and it definitely shows how far this team has come. Some may still be pessimistic about Reggie McKenzie, but that is just people grasping on straws at this point.
Results on the field still need to come, no denying that, but the roster is young and talented, with few holes remaining. It’s just a matter of the players continuing to develop, and for both the coaching staff and the players to execute on the field.
