We’ll start with the locks — players that are 100% safe to make the roster.

  • David Amerson
  • Shilique Calhoun
  • Derek Carr
  • Jon Condo
  • Amari Cooper
  • Michael Crabtree
  • Mario Edwards Jr.
  • Justin Ellis
  • Ben Heeney
  • Austin Howard
  • Rodney Hudson
  • Bruce Irvin
  • Gabe Jackson
  • Cory James
  • Sebastian Janikowski
  • Karl Joseph
  • Marquette King
  • Khalil Mack
  • Latavius Murray
  • Reggie Nelson
  • Jamize Olawale
  • Kelechi Osemele
  • Donald Penn
  • Seth Roberts
  • Lee Smith
  • Malcolm Smith
  • Sean Smith
  • Clive Walford
  • Jihad Ward
  • DeAndre Washington
  • Menelik Watson

Obviously the cornerstones of the franchise will be included here — Carr, Cooper, Mack, etc. — so no surprise there. But the team has plenty of other players, who while are not stars, should be considered a lock to make the roster.

That includes players like Ben Heeney and Seth Roberts, who are line for a lot of playing time.

Menelik Watson and Austin Howard are probably considered the lowest caliber players in this group, alongside the two players already mentioned, but they aren’t going anywhere.

Lee Smith isn’t a household name, at least not on a national basis, but he should be everyone’s favorite non-star. Lee is a Raiders, through and through.

Most of the fans probably don’t want to see Latavius in this tier, but he’s the guy. Sorry.

Cory James, even though he’s a sixth-round rookie, has impressed enough that his job is written in sharpie.
