Keep Running Read Option with Carr

SELL, SELL, SELL!

Musgrave’s creative mindset should have a limit, however.

Taking a page out of the Bills’ playbook and running read option concepts with one of the best pocket passers in the league had Musgrave looking more like Vincent Van Gogh with a knife in hand rather than a paintbrush.

Carr earned just four total yards when he pulled the ball from his running back’s gut on two plays against the Bills, and to make matters worse, he injured his left hand on his second carry.

The Raiders were fortunate in that Carr was able to return to the game without missing a snap, but it should take a third injury to Carr for Musgrave to burn the read option from Oakland’s playbook.
