Mychal Rivera Deserves Some Love

Buy.

One week removed from second-year tight end Clive Walford’s coming-out party, Raiders veteran tight end Mychal Rivera had a party of his own against the Bills on Sunday.

The former University of Tennessee product brought in a season-high three receptions for 57 yards against Buffalo, all three of his receptions going for first downs.

Rivera’s first catch of the day went for 26 yards on 3rd and 9 in the first quarter, extending a drive that ended in three points for Oakland.

The fourth-year tight end carried his momentum late into the second half with a nine-yard reception on 2nd and 7 to set up Murray’s first rushing touchdown and a 22-yard reception on 3rd and 10 two plays prior to Carr’s 37-yard touchdown pass to second-year receiver Amari Cooper.

Though Rivera never found pay dirt, his three receptions led to 17 points, and that’s worth a celebration.

Give him a corner piece of the cake, at least.
