Round 3 – Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Michigan

Sure, Oakland ranked No. 6 in the NFL in total offense in 2016. And wide receiver duo Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree are studs. But the pass-catchers as a whole struggled tremendously with drops in 2016, accumulating 29 total, third worst in the NFL.

In the slot, there is uncertainty as well as major inconsistency. Making matters worse, both Seth Roberts and Andre Holmes are unrestricted free agents this offseason, which leaves a void at the position.

While Roberts possesses uncanny speed and ability to create, both his drops and overall inconsistency has been agonizing.

By drafting Cooper Kupp, the Raiders would get a sure stud in the slot that can catch and create. At 6’2″, Kupp possesses the size and athleticism to go up for the jump ball, and the heart to fearlessly tread the middle of the field.

Over four years at Eastern Washington, Kupp compiled over 6,400 yards and 73 touchdowns. Pairing Kupp with Cooper and Crabtree gives Carr yet another dynamic, reliable threat to keep opposing defenses honest.
