4. Trumaine Johnson

Trumaine Johnson is another name that the Raiders should keep an eye on. Johnson is another player who had a monster 2015 season, as he was one of the league leaders in interceptions with 7. The Rams clearly took notice, which is what led them to franchise tag Trumaine for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Johnson had another great season. He accumulated 57 tackles, 11 passes defensed, and a single interception. Although he did not have the greatest stat line, there is no doubt he was one of the best players on the Rams defense.

The Raiders signing Johnson is dependent on several things — who Oakland cuts (such as Sean Smith) and how much cap room they have left when they extend Derek Carr and/or Gabe Jackson. But adding a player of his caliber is certainly a quick way to greatly improve the secondary.

3. Stephon Gilmore

Although the Bills had a roller coaster type of season, there was one player who had a consistent 2016 season — Stephon Gilmore.

For the season, Gilmore tallied 48 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 12 passes defensed. Very solid stats for someone who was the driving force behind the Bills’ 6th ranked pass defense.

Gilmore will probably be another player who will demand a ton of money on the open market, but if the Raiders were willing to spend, he would be a phenomenal addition to the secondary. Oh, and he doesn’t turn 27 until September.
