3rd Round

Rasul Douglas, CB, West Virginia

In the 3rd round, the Raiders should strongly consider targeting cornerback, and Rasul Douglas out of West Virginia would be the guy to get.

Listed at 6’2″ and 209 lbs., Rasul fits the big cornerback profile that Reggie McKenzie is looking for. Douglas was a full-time starter in has last year at West Virginia, and he made it count. For the 2016 season, he had 49 tackles, 8 interceptions, 1 sack, 8 passes defensed, and 1 forced fumble, which earned him an All-Big 12 selection.

Rasul’s strengths are that he has flashed ball skills, as well as being a ballhawk, which led to his 8 interceptions this past season. He is also a physical corner, and plays like his actual size.

Adding a cornerback to the Raiders roster is a must, and Rasul Douglas could be the guy. Who knows, maybe pairing him back up with his former college teammate Karl Joseph might just be the right thing to do.

4th Round

Kareem Hunt, RB, Toledo

After hearing all of this Marshawn Lynch madness over the past couple weeks, the Raiders still need a running back. That player should be Kareem Hunt out of Toledo. For his college career, Hunt totaled nearly 5,000 yards rushing, and also had 44 touchdowns.

His senior year, he led the MAC conference in rushing which put him on the All-MAC conference team for the second time.

Hunt is a bit bigger than the other two Oakland Raiders running backs, which would help the Raiders in terms of adding a different running style. He is listed a 5’10” and 216 lbs. Hunt has a unique frame, and possesses good vision and has great instincts as a runner.

Keeping note of Reggie McKenzie’s recent track record in regards to the running back position, it would not surprise me to see him draft a running back in the mid to late rounds. Kareem Hunt would be a solid choice, and would provide the Raiders running game another dynamic that they could work with.
