Reaction to the relocation news from Derek Carr, Khalil Mack and Jack Del Rio.
By now, you know the Oakland Raiders are officially moving to Las Vegas. There have been a lot of reactions to this news. As befits most things Raiders, those reactions are quite strong one way or the other.
The players are affected by this, but it’s awkward. Because the Raiders are playing in Oakland for 2017 and 2018, there are numerous players on the team right now that won’t be when the time comes.
One player that will be is the Raiders heart and soul. A man who helps save missing children. Who drives strangers to get gas — even though most cynics know that’s a good way to get killed.
The man who, yet again, has a way with words that makes things seem just a little bit better. Derek Carr sent this visceral and emotional Tweet shortly after the announcement was made:

Defensive stalwart Khalil Mack is a man of action, not words. As such, he had this take on Carr’s tweet. Mack is certainly one who recognizes strong game and doesn’t play:
Couldn't have said it better so I'll quote tweet it! https://t.co/tuZDNLQy9x

Coach Jack Del Rio is a Bay Area native. Much was made about the prodigal son returning to Oakland and bringing the Raiders off the slag heap. As he told Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area, Del Rio’s emotions are mixed at the moment:

After reading Carr’s quote Del Rio replied to his young leaders with a challenge:
Of course some players are looking at it from a practical perspective:

Bruce Irvin is still representing for Oakland.
Always going to be town bidness no matter happens! #facts

Marquette King weighed in with some a thought-provoking tweet:

For some fans, largely for those in the Bay Area, this is a heartbreaking blow.
Should have said this went the announcement came down but my heart goes out to Bay Area Raiders fans. It absolutely sucks.

And for many others, the new stadium in Vegas is exciting.
Excited to finally see an NFL team move to Las Vegas. Raiders currently have a great team and I can't wait to see the new stadium.
