Eddie Jackson – Alabama

Eddie Jackson is one of the more polarizing safeties in this class, as opinions range on him far on wide. Some draft analysts look at his outstanding junior season and see the former five-star prospect continuing that success in the NFL, while some look at uninspiring size and athleticism combination, and a player who played behind a dominant Alabama defense.

Both sides have truth, but towards the end of the third round, he’ll likely be the best safety on the board. Jackson isn’t an elite athlete, but he’s not a bad athlete by any means. And at 6’0″ 201 pounds, he’ll just need to add some weight, and he’ll be fine in that regard.

Jackson has plus ball skills and quality instincts, making him dangerous on the back end. With experience in the return game, he’s one of the better safeties in this class with the ball in his hands.

Eddie is a mediocre tackler, and that’s the biggest area he’ll need to improve. There are also concerns about his injury history and his ability to stay healthy at the next level.
