Rounds 4 to 7: Players Who Fit Reggie McKenzie’s Mold
Round 7
Conor McDermott, OT, UCLA – Checks all of the boxes that he tested in. He did not complete the bench press, and he was a team captain.
Jessamen Dunker, OT, Tennessee State – Failed the height threshold by only one inch. He did not complete the 3-cone or 20-yard shuttle.
Sam Tevi, OT, Utah – Came up four reps short on the bench press.
Corey Levin, OG, UT Chattanooga – 25 pounds light on the weight threshold.
Josh Carraway, DE, TCU – Nine pounds light on the weight threshold.
Avery Moss, DE, Youngtown State – Checks 100% of the boxes, with the exception of he was not a team captain.
Isaac Rochell, DE, Notre Dame – His arm length measured at 32 3/4″ and the McKenzie threshold for defensive end arm length is 33 1/4″.
Matt Milano, OLB, Boston College – Missed the weight threshold by six pounds. He did not complete the 3-cone or 20-yard shuttle.
Round 7 could be where Reggie grabs someone off the “honorable mentions” page, which comes next. A player who didn’t test at the combine, or perhaps a running back, wide receiver or tight end.
If he hasn’t drafted a tackle yet, McDermott stands out as checking all the boxes. Marquel Lee is someone I’m a fan of on film.
