Oakland might be the slightly better football team entering this season, but this Week 1 game with the Titans will be in their house in Nashville. We’d be looking at a less than three-point spread if that’s the case.

This should be a thrilling, one-score game between two teams that could meet again in the AFC playoffs. Oakland and Tennessee have met on the gridiron in each of the last two seasons. The Raiders were able to come out on top, but Tennessee has improved considerably in the last two seasons under Mularkey.

While Oakland reached the AFC playoffs for the first time in 14 years last season, it could very well be a return to the playoffs for the 2017 Titans. Along with the Houston Texans, the Titans will be duking it out for the AFC South crown, much like what Oakland will be doing with arch rival Kansas City in the AFC West.

When two teams are this evenly matched, we can expect a one-score game heading into the final minutes. Oakland has a knack for finding ways to win tight ball games. It’s not like Nissan Stadium is an elite home-field advantage either for the Titans. Though an early start for the Raiders, they can definitely beat this worthy adversary in their place to get their regular season off on the right foot.
