Week 4 of the 2017 NFL season is going on this week. That also means it is Week 5 in major college football. We’ve seen somewhat of a sample size out of the Oakland Raiders to think about what could be in store for the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Raiders’ draft position and needs will change as the season progresses. Perhaps the player that the Raiders hopefully take in the back-end of the first-round is a guy we haven’t even heard of yet. This might be the year of the quarterback in college football, be Oakland doesn’t need a quarterback this year. Derek Carr is the Raiders’ guy for a very long time.

Looking at some of the draft needs for the Raiders, positions like defensive line, linebacker and running back would be primary needs. Positions like edge players, guard and tight end would be considered secondary need. Tertiary needs at this time for the Raiders would be offensive tackle, wide receiver and safety.

Oakland has 11 picks to get better, including five in the sixth round, in the 2018 NFL Draft. It’s still very early in the process, but let’s see what a 2018 mock draft would look like as we begin to turn the page to October.
