Oakland Raiders, Week 4: 2018 NFL Mock Draft

With the way that the first round talent pool is shaking out, Oakland can go with a few position groups in the back-end of the first round. Those would include defensive line, linebacker, edge and even running back.

Going with a running back before probably the third round would not be a smart move for the Raiders. Marshawn Lynch isn’t going to be here forever, but Oakland can get a great tailback in the third or fifth round.

Linebacker is a hard position group to draft, especially with so many offenses going spread. However, this does look to be a deep draft for the position group. There will be solid linebackers available on day two.

That means Oakland should go with either a defensive lineman or an edge player in the first round. If he’s available, there is no reason for the Silver and Black to not draft Vita Vea out of Washington. With the USC Trojans falling to Washington State, Vea has a great chance at playing in the College Football Playoff for the second straight year.

To get a defensive interior player as physically imposing or as talented as Vea in the back-end of the first round would be a total steal for the Raiders. Adding him into the fold would make the Raiders’ front-seven better over night.
