The secondary can’t play like this if Oakland wants to beat the New England Patriots

While a win was fantastic, it wasn’t all positive for the Raiders. The secondary once again looked lost, as the Raiders’ defensive backfield was carved up by Dolphins quarterback Jay Cutler all night long. Cutler completed 24 of 32 passes for 311 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

He had been averaging well under 200 yards per game in his first year with the Dolphins. This was easily his best game since coming out of retirement to play for his former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase down in Miami.

Unbelievably, the 2017 Raiders are now the first team in NFL history have not forced an interception in its first nine games of the season. It will not be until Week 11 that the Silver and Black can even think about picking a ball off. The Raiders will be on their bye in Week 10.

Though injuries have ravaged the Oakland secondary, are we sure this group is going to even stand a chance against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots passing game down in Mexico City in two weeks? The Raiders secondary made Cutler look like a brain surgeon. To think what Brady could do to this lackluster Oakland secondary is absolutely horrifying.
