The Oakland Raiders offense has completely regressed this season and the person that is aiding the regression is quarterback Derek Carr.

Entering the season, there were huge aspirations for quarterback Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders offense. This was a team that went 12-4 and were carried by one of the best high-flying passing games in the NFL in 2016. Instead, we have seen an offense that has trouble exceeding 16 points in a game. Last season, Carr was the motor that kept everything going. Now he is one of the reasons this offense is underperforming.

Carr has regressed this season. His performance against the Kansas City Chiefs this past Sunday was by far one of, if not the worst game of his career. He now drops to 0-4 against the Chiefs at Arrowhead stadium. In four seasons, he only has two regular season wins against his franchise’s arch rival.

Carr completed a check list for a bad quarterback performance. He threw an interception with pressure in his face, missed some easy targets and threw his receivers into vulnerable positions again. It wasn’t like weather was a huge problem on this early Sunday afternoon kickoff at Arrowhead either. For a December game in Kansas City, it was in the high 40s and no chance of precipitation.

There’s a lot to factor in why Carr is regressing this season. It’s a multi-faceted problem, but so are many of the things that have plagued the 2017 Raiders. Let’s take a look at three factors that have been behind Carr’s regression this season for the Raiders.
