A three-year starter for the Auburn Tigers, Carlton Davis is one of the more exciting defensive back prospects in this draft class. Davis started for the Tigers as a true freshman, and since then, he has worked his way up to being one of the best cornerbacks in the SEC.

Davis is a big cornerback, as he is 6-foot-1, and 205 pounds. That size enables him to play a very physical brand of football, which would be perfect for the Raiders and new defensive coordinator Paul Guenther. A great tackler, Davis is only 21-years old, and could find himself sneaking into the first round.

While the Raiders should not take him in round one, especially if they stay at No. 10, he would be a nice grab at No. 41. He ran a 4.53 40-yard dash during the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, and posted a 34 inch vertical, showing his great athleticism.

He is one of the more confident defensive backs in this draft class, and could slide right in as a rookie and start for the Raiders alongside Conley. Down the line, Davis has the physical gifts to be a CB1 at the NFL level, and he certainly has the work ethic to get there.

Davis is the kind of cornerback Guenther likes, and the team selecting him in the second round would not shock me at all.
