Recapping Reggie McKenzie’s draft history with the Raiders

3rd Round – Tony Bergstrom (OT)

4th Round – Miles Burris (LB)

5th Round – Jack Crawford  (DE) & Juron Criner (WR)

6th Round – Christo Bilukidi (DT)

7th Round – Nathan Stupar (LB)

No, I did not make these names up. McKenzie came into his first draft with little to work with as Oakland had traded away four of their picks for other players. The biggest being the Carson Palmer trade which turned out not to be “the greatest trade in football” as former head coach Hue Jackson had claimed.

However, McKenzie did not do much with what he did have.

The only player who made any contributions was the 4th round pick Burris, who started 15 games his rookie season. Despite that, Burris proved to be more of a guy who was getting stats as a result of a terrible position group than a real difference maker.

Not a single one of these players are still on the current roster.
