2018 Raiders NFL Draft: Top 5 first round draft picks the last ten years
The Oakland Raiders haven’t been that successful over the last ten years in the first round of the NFL draft. It wasn’t until the last four years did they finally start turning the corner.
With the free agent frenzy essentially over, all eyes are now looking ahead to the NFL Draft on April 26th. The Oakland Raiders will pick at No. 10 in the first round, where they look to have better success with their top pick.
The draft is where NFL general managers and coaches get to play baseball. There are more misses than hits when it comes to drafting a player. The difference with the others rounds is unlike later in the draft, you cannot afford to swing and miss in the first round.
You’re batting average definitely needs to be higher than the excepted standard. When it comes to the Oakland Raiders they definitely have had their fair share of misses in the first round. Just looking back on the last ten years, it was very hard to even put a top five draft picks together.
