1. Hiring Jon Gruden as the new head coach

After the Raiders embarrassing Week 17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, the organization decided it was time to part ways with head coach Jack Del Rio. His staff was atrocious in 2017, and the franchise felt they were best suited by bringing in a new face to lead the team.

That new face turned out to be an old, familiar face, as they brought back Jon Gruden to lead this team over the next 10 seasons. Gruden was the main man the last time the Raiders were a perennial playoff team, and he has made sure his 2018 roster reflects his coaching style.

Sure, the last time the Raiders were in a Super Bowl, Bill Callahan was the head coach, but it was Gruden’s roster that he took there. He is a quarterback guru, and should help Carr reach the next level of his development.

These 6 moves should seriously impact the Raiders season in a good way in 2018. Gruden has his fingerprints all over this roster, and has taken some big swings this offseason, but if he connects, this Raiders team could be the one to beat in a very tough AFC West.
