With organized team activities starting to heat up, let us take a look at some Raiders position battles to keep an eye on as we move closer to training camp.

When Jon Gruden took over as head coach of the Oakland Raiders, he quickly began overhauling the roster. Bringing in veteran players to compete with some of the younger talents, there is a nice blend of youth and experience on the 2018 Raiders roster.

Now, as the team has started organized team activities, or OTAs, the competition for starting spots will be talked about from now until the final depth chart is released prior to Week 1. We have already seen some rookies mixed in with the first team, and some veterans start low on the depth chart.

The classic “cream will rise to the top” strategy will certain fit during Gruden’s first season back at the helm of the Raiders. He reshaped this roster to reflect his coaching style, and the players seem to really be taking to it.

When it comes to competing for playing time, a couple of position battles have already started to emerge. We will dive into some groups that will have incredible competition from now until Week 1, as the Raiders look to rebound off of their 6-10 season in 2017.

Here are some position group that falls into that category.
