Jordy Nelson

This is a no brainer. Nelson is a pro’s pro. He’s been in the league for a decade now, establishing himself a top tier wide receiver. He’ll be an improvement over Michael Crabtree because he won’t drop the ball and can actually run block. However, it’s not just Nelson’s production that will be an immediate impact. There’s another aspect to his game that is much more valuable and that’s his leadership.

All last season the Raiders’ locker room was lacking in leadership from both players and coaches. This year there will be a surplus in leadership and that is what Jordy Nelson will bring. He’s already establishing himself as one during meetings and in OTAs.

Amari Cooper himself has even publicly spoken about the influence Nelson has had on him and the receivers. We never once heard anything relative of such when it came to Crabtree.

So when it comes to Nelson in regards of immediate impact, he’s already doing so. He’s the perfect player to help polish Cooper and pick up some of the young guys on the team. Nelson is the perfect veteran player that this team has needed the last few seasons.
