Martavis Bryant

Slide over Seth Roberts there’s a new number three receiver in town and this guy can actually catch. This is arguably the best wide receiver group the Raiders have had since they went to the super bowl. Cooper, Nelson and Bryant will stretch defensive backs thin. I cannot overstate how much of an improvement Bryant is. The drops that have plagued Derek Carr will see a reduction this season.

The only culprit of those drops of the last few seasons that remains is Cooper now that Crabtree is gone and Roberts falling down the depth chart. Bryant does everything better than Seth DROPerts. He’s a big receiver who’s fast with clean route running. His addition to the team allows the offense to move Cooper to the slot. They could send both Bryant and Cooper down the field to stretch the defense and go with quick under routes for Nelson.

With Roberts as number three they don’t have that versatility. The offense is just stagnate with him, but with Bryant the impact will be immediately felt. He’s in a contract year, so you know he’s for sure going to want to ball out this season.

He could even serve as a long term option for the Raiders. As long as he can stay out of trouble, then we could be seeing Bryant as a Raider in the near future.
