How will Jon Gruden do in his first season as head coach?

It has been ten years since Jon Gruden stalked a sideline as a head coach in the NFL, but you would not think that by seeing him during the organized team activities. He has been a maniac, running around with the players, and turning these practices into the kind of workouts that ensure players are getting better every day.

During the offseason, Gruden drew a lot of criticism with the way he was shaping the Raiders roster. The fact of the matter is that this was a bad team last season, and a lot of that had to do with the inept coaching staff that was put in place by former head coach Jack Del Rio.

In Gruden, the Raiders know they have a man who is going to outwork every other head coach in the NFL. He lives and breathes football, and it should not take him long to get used to how much the game has changed in the last ten years.

A Super Bowl winning head coach, Gruden is bringing the Raiders back to the old days, when they were one of the best teams in the NFL under his watch. A nice blend of rookies and veterans will make this team a lot better in 2018, and he has to be seen as a major upgrade from Del Rio and company.
