The Oakland Raiders offense was anemic last season to say the least, as tight end Jared Cook led the team in receiving yards. Despite the fact they had Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree at the top of the depth chart at wideout, the offense really struggled putting the ball in the air, and Derek Carr had one of the worst seasons of his young career.

This offseason, the Raiders let Crabtree have his walking papers, replacing him with former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson. Nelson is coming off one of his least-productive years of his career, but that was mostly due to the fact that Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone, leaving him with Brett Hundley as his quarterback.

In 2015 and 2016, Nelson combined to haul in 27 touchdown passes from Rodgers, and with Derek Carr throwing him the ball this season, he should see a major jump in the numbers from last year. He will be joined by not only Cooper at the top of the depth chart, but also Martavis Bryant, giving the Raiders quite a trio at the wide receiver position.

Nelson is the ultimate professional, and all of his knowledge is already rubbing off on the young wide receivers in the room. He may be 33-years old, but he has wowed the coaches already this offseason, and when the Raiders get in the red zone, there may be no better player in football down there.
