Healthy Derek Carr

During the 2016 season, the Raiders were the team to beat in the AFC. Rolling towards the AFC West title, and a first round bye in the playoffs, the Raiders were drubbing in the Indianapolis Colts in front of the home crowd on Christmas Eve.

Then, disaster struck, as left tackle Donald Penn allowed his only sack of the season on Carr, leaving the star quarterback on the ground with a broken leg. Carr would obviously miss the next week, when the team lost the division with a loss to Denver, and then had to watch his team get throttled by the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round.

Still, heading into last season, the Raiders had high expectations, as the team did win 12 games with Carr under center, and he played at an MVP level. What ended up happening was Carr broke his back early in the season against Denver, and the offense was never the same after that.

Carr missed only one start, but he was hampered by the injury all season long. This summer, Carr is finally healthy, and with a ton of new weapons at his disposal in 2018, he could be in for his best season as a pro.
