Derek Carr has a brand new coaching staff to play for this season, and he went on the Jim Rome Show on Wednesday to talk about his new head coach.

The first big splash of the offseason for the Oakland Raiders was at head coach, as they replaced Jack Del Rio with Jon Gruden. Known for his fiery personality, Gruden is a guy who demands the best from his players, especially his quarterbacks.

Luckily for Gruden, he has a terrific one in Derek Carr, who, like Gruden, is all about football. The two have been very outward with their love for each other since Gruden returned to the Raiders, and on Wednesday, Carr went on the Jim Rome Show to discuss it.

In order for the Raiders to accomplish the things they want to this season, the relationship between Carr and Gruden has to work. Gruden has been known for being quite the asset for his quarterbacks, see Rich Gannon, and it appears the relationship between the coach and quarterback is off to a very good start.

Entering his fifth season, Carr is already one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL, and is working his way up the Raiders record book. The combination of Gruden and offensive coordinator Greg Olson will be the best coaches he has had during his young NFL career, and the trio of Jordy Nelson, Amari Cooper, and Martavis Bryant are the best he has had at the wide receiver position as well.
