Breno at right tackle

The offensive tackle position is one that is going to dominate the headlines in camp this season, and the first depth chart had the tandem of Breno Giacomini and Kolton Miller as the bookends for Derek Carr. Miller has shown himself to be worth of the first round selection this summer, and will likely start at right tackle when the regular season kicks off.

However, starting left tackle Donald Penn is currently on the PUP list, which means Miller has to slide over to the left side for the Lions game. In fact, Miller is showing that he has the potential to be a starting left tackle in the NFL, and the Raiders now have a good succession plan for the perennial Pro Bowler Penn.

While Miller mans the left side, Giacomini is going to start on the right side, and that is what he was brought in here to do. The expectation was he would be the starting right tackle during the rgeular season in 2018, but Miller has definitely moved above him on the depth chart during the first two weeks of camp.

Brandon Parker will backup Giacomini on the right side against Detroit, and like Miller, he has looked very good in camp. David Sharpe will be the No. 2 left tackle behind Miller according to the depth chart, with Jylan Ware and Ian Silberman getting time as well in preseason game one.
