Seth above Switz

One of the biggest names in training camp so far has been one of the Raiders smallest wide receivers. Ryan Switzer has come over to the Silver and Black with a purpose this summer, and it is definitely looking like the Raiders won that draft day trade.

In that trade, the team sent 2016 draft pick Jihad Ward to the Dallas Cowboys for Switzer, who will be used as a receiver and return man for the Raiders this season. On the first depth chart, however, Switzer was listed as a third-string wide receiver, putting him behind Amari Cooper, Jordy Nelson, Martavis Bryant, and Seth Roberts.

The fact that he is behind Roberts is a bit puzzling, as Roberts has been less than impressive during his time with the Raiders. In fact, despite paying him a bunch of money this offseason, some felt Roberts may not even make the team out of camp, and that could certainly happen as the summer rolls along.

Roberts has had his moments in Oakland, but Switzer is way too good a player to have him behind him on the depth chart. Switzer is also behind Dwayne Harris in the return game, so you have to believe this depth chart is going to change in his favor before the Raiders second preseason game.
